Weinheim sits at the southern end of the Bergstrasse, where the region meets the Rhein-Neckar area. For riders from Weinheim, the trip to Bensheim is easy, and you work directly with me, Lloyd Thomas, in the session.
Around the Two Castles town many riders do both: road towards the Rhine plain and terrain into the Odenwald, for example over the Wachenberg. A position set up for only one situation reaches its limits quickly.
Why one position should work across several uses
If you ride road and mountain bike, you do not need two separate setups, but clear decisions that make sense for how you ride. I look at movement, contact points and load, rather than just reading off numbers.
The session between the Windeck and the Wachenburg
Weinheim sits at the southern end of the Bergstrasse, between the Windeck and the Wachenburg, right where the flat Rhine plain gives way to the Odenwald climbs. Many riders from here move between road and gravel, often within the same week. So in the session I look at both sides: how your position holds up at speed on the road, and how it behaves once the surface changes and the gradient starts. After the movement screen, I check saddle, cleats and cockpit under both conditions, rather than tuning the position for one discipline only. I work through changes in a sensible order, so you are not riding away with too many open points at once. You leave with a fit report and the final measurements.
