Bike fit cost: what it costs here, and why the market prices sit so far apart

Bike fit cost explained honestly: my full price list, why market prices sit so far apart, what actually drives the price, and when a cheap fit is genuinely enough.

Prices

What it costs here

Each price is the whole price. There are no add-on modules, no measurement that only unlocks at a higher tier, and no surcharge because your case took longer.

All prices include VAT. Scope follows what you need, not the tier you booked.

Aerodynamic work and camps run by arrangement and are not listed here.

The market

Why one bike fitting costs €99 and another €400

The difference is rarely the brand of measurement kit. It is time, method, who runs the session, and what still belongs to it after you leave.

  • €99 – €149

    Shop check

Usually saddle height, a cleat check and a look from the side, often credited against a bike purchase. For a new bike with no complaints that is frequently enough.

  • €250 – €300

    Regional studio fit

A full session with measurement and adjustment. Extra measurements such as foot or saddle pressure are frequently billed on top.

  • €300 – €400

    Specialist, triathlon or lab

Time-trial and triathlon positions, aerodynamics, performance diagnostics. Scope varies widely between providers at this level.

What actually drives the price

  • How long the session runs, and whether it ends when the clock runs out or when the position holds.
  • Whether anyone checks how you move before analysing you on the bike.
  • Who runs the session, and how many fits that person has behind them.
  • Whether follow-up, a fit report and later questions are included or billed separately.
  • Whether the provider earns on the sale of the bike currently in the room.

When a cheap fit is enough

New bike, no complaints, moderate distances: a clean shop check is a reasonable decision and you do not need me for it. The detailed work earns its price when complaints keep coming back, when the position collapses under load, or when you are about to make a purchase you cannot undo.

Market bands surveyed:

Two questions come up before almost every session: what a bike fit costs, and why the range across the market is so wide. Both are answered on this page, with my actual prices and without the line about prices being available on request. You work directly with me, Lloyd Thomas, with no steps in between.

What “all-in” actually means here

The scope of a session is set by what you need, not by which tier you booked. That is not a marketing line, it is the reason my price list is short: there is nothing I hold back to unlock later for a fee.

In practice that means three things. If your foot position needs attention, it gets attention, regardless of which appointment is booked. If the session runs long because your case runs long, the price stays the same. And if I measure something, it is because the question demands it, not because the measurement is its own line on the invoice.

The opposite model is common in this market and perfectly legitimate: a base session, with the deeper measurements charged on top. Priced that way, the entry figure can sit lower. Nobody knows in advance where the session ends, though.

What happens in the session

I do not start with a number or a formula. I start with you. First I look at how you move and how you take load. Only then do I analyse the bike under realistic load. That order is the core of the work, and it explains a good share of the gap between this and a saddle-height check.

  • Movement screening before the on-bike analysis
  • On-bike analysis under load, not stationary
  • Adjustments to saddle, cleats and cockpit during the session
  • Clear priorities rather than many changes at once
  • Fit report with the final measurements, so the position stays reproducible

How to prepare

Bring your bike, your shoes and close-fitting clothing. If you know where discomfort shows up or what you changed on the setup last, I get to the point faster. For buying advice the same holds in reverse: the clearer your intended use, the more solid the target numbers.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a bike fit cost at CycleFit Europe?

The full price list is at the top of this page, sorted by service from the cheapest appointment upwards. Every figure is the whole price, VAT included.

Aerodynamic work and camps run by arrangement, so they are not on the list.

Book an appointment

Are there extra costs on top of that price?

No. There are no add-on modules, no measurement that only unlocks at a higher tier, and no surcharge because your case took longer than planned.

Anything you genuinely need in insoles, cleats or parts is discussed beforehand. None of it gets added during the session.

Why is this more expensive than a shop check?

Because it is a different service. A shop check assesses a new bike. Here I start with how you move, work on the bike under realistic load, and document the final measurements.

If your bike is new and nothing hurts, the cheaper route is the sensible one. That is stated further up this page too.

Studio fit vs shop check

How do I prepare for the session?

Bring your bike, your shoes, close-fitting clothing and any relevant setup parts. Notes on where discomfort shows up and what you changed last save us time in the session.
